The City of Euless partners with Tarrant County to test mosquitos for illnesses. Once a week they test for mosquito-borne illnesses, such as the West Nile virus, Zika virus and the St. Louis encephalitis virus. Periodic spraying for mosquitos is then done in the areas that test positive for infected mosquitos. Mosquito spraying is typically done in the late evening (after 10 p.m.), when most people are indoors.
Spraying is not performed during rainfall or when wind speeds are 10 mph or greater. During the spraying, you do not need to do anything special, since the spray droplets falling on the ground become inactive in just a few hours or with sunshine (UV light).
The City of Euless can notify you by email if you sign up for "Community Alerts" on eulesstx.gov/MyEuless.htm. For questions or concerns regarding mosquitos, please call Public Works at 817-685-1580.
